UGA Proudly Introduces Its Inspiring Fourth-Year Student-Athletes: Celebrating Dedication, Spirit, and the Dawg Mentality
Athens, GA — August 12, 2025 — In a stirring ceremony held at Sanford Stadium this afternoon, the University of Georgia officially introduced its 2025 class of fourth-year student-athletes, recognizing their exceptional commitment to excellence both on and off the field. From the gridiron to the classroom, these young men and women embody the very heart of Bulldog Nation—resilience, leadership, and unshakable pride.
The annual event, dubbed “Dawgs for Life: Senior Salute,” has become a cherished tradition on campus, but this year’s class is earning extra attention—and for good reason. With NIL opportunities, transfer portal volatility, and rising pressure from national competition, sticking with one program for four years has become a badge of loyalty and grit.
Coach Kirby Smart, addressing a packed media gallery and cheering teammates, didn’t hold back praise:
> “This group right here—they didn’t just wear the ‘G’ on their helmets. They carried it in their hearts. Through injuries, through roster changes, through historic wins and crushing setbacks, they never folded. They led with fire. They are the blueprint.”
Among the headliners:
🔴 Jamari “Jet” Davis (WR) – Once a quiet 3-star recruit from Macon, Davis is now known for his clutch route running and team-first mentality. He’s recorded over 1,500 receiving yards in his career and has been named to the SEC All-Academic Team three times.
⚫ Elena Price (Track & Field) – A three-time SEC medalist in the 400m hurdles, Price returned from a near career-ending injury her sophomore year to break the school record last spring. Her comeback story has already inspired a feature-length documentary now in production with SEC Network.
🔴 Malik Andrews (LB) – The vocal leader of Georgia’s top-ranked defense, Andrews is projected as a Day 2 NFL Draft pick but chose to return for his senior season, citing “unfinished business and unmatched brotherhood.” He led the team in tackles in 2024 and is a nominee for the Butkus Award.
⚫ Sophia Liu (Tennis) – With 88 career singles wins and two SEC titles, Liu’s legacy in Athens is cemented. But her impact runs deeper—she founded the “Athletes for Access” initiative, which provides mentorship and mental health resources for student-athletes of all backgrounds.
Each athlete walked onto the platform today to a standing ovation, flanked by family, teammates, and university faculty. They were presented with a commemorative “G Legacy Medal,” engraved with the phrase: “Four Years. One Heartbeat. Forever a Dawg.”
Athletic Director Josh Brooks also emphasized the broader meaning of the moment:
> “In an era where change is constant and loyalty is rare, these Bulldogs stayed the course. They are reminders that culture still matters. That legacy still matters.”
Fans flooded social media with hashtags like #DawgsForLife, #UGALegacy25, and #SeniorSalute, sharing highlights, personal stories, and throwback photos of the athletes who’ve defined Georgia athletics over the last four years.
As the fall season nears kickoff and expectations for Georgia football reach a fever pitch once again, it’s this class of seasoned, resilient leaders who will set the tone for what’s to come.
Because at Georgia, it’s not just about winning—it’s about wearing the G with honor.
And this class wears it well. 🐾
